All attendees check in at the registration table to:
This is one of the two times where all participants gather in the same room (usually the largest one in the facility). This will be a general orientation to the event, including sponsor thank yous, facility overview (important things like the location of the restooms) and any facility rules (e.g. smoking, food, etc.). This is a great time for participants to ask any questions before the main sessions get started.
This is an what makes Cre8Camp an unconference. The event agenda starts out as an open grid, with time slots represented as rows and available room numbers/names represented as columns, thus creating a matrix of time/location blocks to be filled in. See this picture for reference.
The people who fill out this open grid schedule are the participants themselves. That way anyone can suggest a topic that will be discussed during the event. The sorting out of these topics can either be done online prior to the event or at the event itself.
In the spirit of freedom and collaboration we encourage participants to:
Usually, every hour is broken down into a 45-minute session and 15-minute respite to allow for break, prep and more networking. Found some people talking about early 16th century Italian typography in the breakroom while between sessions? Let it happen. Cre8Camps will thrive precisely because of this sort of interesting, passionate conversation between likeminded individuals.
Sometime durng the day, reserve an hour or two for participants to eat a meal. This will also be a great time to network.
At the end of the event, all participants will gather in one again to provide feedback, suggest ideas for next time, thank the sponsors, etc.
Completely optional, but wouldn’t they be fun? The goal of Cre8Camps is to build a community of creative individuals that share a passion for something, not because it’s their day job, but because they love it.
